My "Dreamcatcher" design inspiration comes from the summer sleeping mats. Since ancient summers, when Chinese people didn’t have easy access to cooling water or air-conditioners, they would sleep a bamboo mat providing a cool sleep through summer heat. In other words, the mat bears people's sweet dream, hence why I called it Dreamcatcher. The pattern of this carpet loosely mimics the weaving of the bamboo mat while instilling a good and comfortable mood upon sight.

My name is Hou Yuying, you can call me Amy. This is my final year before graduating in Graphic Arts major at the Southampton University joint campus with the Dalian Polytechnic University in China. My design philosophy mirrors my belief that every simple things hold more power than anything else in our modern, complicated lifestyles.

My name is Meng Nanxi. I am a senior Graphic Arts student at the Southampton University campus in Dalian, China. My interest in creative design works and a spirit of adventure led me to this design major. I like trying new and exciting things while also appreciate the charms of my cultural inheritance, reflected in my passion for traveling and experiencing different cultures. My dream is to record all my interesting travel experience through my eyes and sketchbooks.

I am very honored to introduce myself, I’m Hu Xingye and my English name is Phoebe. I come from Panjin (Liaoning, China), a city called the hometown of crabs and rice. I am currently a senior Graphic Arts student at the University of Southampton-DPU in Dalian, China.
Out of infinite passion for design and drawing, I choose this major, but i also enjoy reading books about design, creativity and illustration. I also find inspiration from music and the little things in daily life, such as my friends with different majors or interests.
